Microsoft Download Center and Silverlight
There is a cool preview download centre up that uses Silverlight:
https://preview.microsoft.com/downloads/HomePage.aspx
First glances it has:
- Menu in top right written in Silverlight
- The Popular and New Downloads tables are Silverlight
- The Browse Downloads is definitely the best use with a cool interaction when moving through the alphabet
Does seem very slow but that is probably because it is in Preview and not on full hosting infrastructure (guessing that anyway)

Why wasn't this done using CSS, HTML, and JavaScript? Would seem like a better set of technologies to use.Anonymous

Rosyna - good question. I think this is a testing ground for various concepts and I guess they are just testing stuff out. I agree it's not a great use of Silverlight in a simple nav scenario but I could definitely see it being used to do some smart nav (think a file shuffle like the iTunes album art view all with Silverlight in the browser)
