Mark Johnston - who is he?
He is me. I thought it was worthwhile doing a very quick introduction to give some context to this blog and what I do at Microsoft.
I've been at Microsoft 3 years now and worked on academic programs during that time. This has given me amazing opportunities to meet students and academics all across the UK (name a university and I'm 90% sure I've been there). At the moment I am working with the UK team who won the UK Imagine Cup and are heading to India in 2 weeks to battle it out against the rest of the world! Check out the guys on Channel9 prior to meeting Bill Gates (and I was there too :-)).
After 3 years of holding onto the student lifestyle I've been given an amazing opportunity to get back to a pure technology role and my passion of web technologies. So, this blog will be mainly about all that comes with that - I've a lot to learn and I'm very up for the challenge so this may be a good site to read if you are interested in learning any of the following - WPF, Atlas, ASP.NET, Windows Live, Expression and general user experience stuff.
