In Seattle for training this week
I meant to post that I was heading to the north west US for our annual "chip-in-neck-upgrade" but forgot as I rushed myself onto the BA flight to Seattle from London. It's been a good week so far with lots of new stuff with a really heavy emphasis on WPF, "WPF/E" (give it a name already?!:-)), Windows Live and dynamic languages like IronPython.
The big highlight for me was getting to see WPF/E talked about in good technical depth (compared to my high level intro) by:
Joe Stegman on WPF/E gave an excellent overview and his blog is full of useful WPF/E stuff.
Celso Gomes gave a real insight into how a skilled designer with XAML and Javascript skills can create some really rich (and elegant) solutions to rich internet applications.
Check out the Slovenian Vista site
Got some more WPF stuff this week and looking forward to seeing what is happening in the dynamic language space. Something I'll happily admit to knowing very little about but want to get a good understanding.
Oh, and I got a Zune :-)
Will check in again before the end of the week. I wonder if there is a Starbucks round here, my room-mate Andy and I can't seem to find one anywhere.
