Windows Azure Geo-Replication Functionality

A couple of weeks ago, during the BUILD conference, and interesting functionality for Windows Azure was revealed: Geo-Replication of the data in the Windows Azure Storage.

It basically provides data replication for all your Windows Azure Blob and Table data at no additional cost. Your data stays in the same regions as it is replicated between two locations hundreds of km apart but still in the same region (i.e. North and West Europe, …). It is provided for additional data durability in the case of major data center disaster – so try achieving that yourself especially at the price of 0€…
