The SharePoint Momentum

With our 6 month old SharePoint 2007, we're seeing several very interesting tools and add-ons emerging for better integration with Office tools as well as enhancements to core functionality.

Here's an article I came across that talks about a new product by Colligo that allows you better offline document libraries and some other interesting tools from Mondosoft and IBM!

Egyptian partners have developed some really interesting tools too. ITEgypt has a tool which unlocks the search capabilities of SharePoint 2003, I expect they'll be building one for SharePoint 2007. Link has a Quiz Builder tool which I saw with SharePoint 2003 and since it was largely dotNet, I expect it'll work well with SharePoint 2007 as well. Asset is currently marketing a document management solution which adds on to SharePoint the document imaging and some level of workflow. OMS is set to release their new BPM tool which they proudly presented at IDS. Codenamed Highborn, this tool is going to be competing with the likes of K2.NET and Skelta in the coming years. They expect this tool to be launched sometime in the second half of 2007.

It makes me quite proud to see a list of new products emerging around our Office technologies in Egypt.
