Developer Articles for PowerPoint

Andrew May, the programmer/writer for PowerPoint programmability at Microsoft, has two truly excellent papers that just went out the door. They answer some questions that I have seen appear countless times in the ng's, so they deserve some extra headlining.

If you have ever been perplexed about what is the best way to embed media files in a presenation programmatically and how it all works, then these two articles are just what you need. They are incrediby well researched, and they are clearly written.

Check 'em out:

Adding Multimedia to a PowerPoint 2003 Presentation

and

How PowerPoint 2003 Plays Multimedia Files in a Presentation

As always, check out the Office Developer Center to stay in touch with what is going on with Office programmability.

Rock thought for the day: OK, I was ill for three days (and it was actually very sunny in the Seattle area- a cosmic joke), so I was stuck in my bed for three days. The good news is I played the guitar like mad. I worked out some licks for a few songs and learned that you ought not to give up on song ideas, even if they seem silly at first. Stay with them, and see where they take you.

Rock on.
