What the... WPF/E?
I've had a few questions recently about WPF/E and what exactly it is. WPF/E stands for Windows Presentation Foundation Everywhere and is a rather exciting development because it sees the extension of WPF which is desktop based in .NET 3.0 onto the internet in a cross-browser, cross-platform and small footprint format.
Mike Harsh's explanation is probably the best and he has some cool screenshots of WPF/E running in Firefox. He also mentions that we're bringing c# programming to the Mac - should be good! This'll come in the form of a compact .NET framework.
In the future WPF/E will herald the blurring between applications on the desktop and the web. A user's experience will become one on either Vista desktop or internet browser, allowing much better ease of use between an online and offline state. Bring it on!
