A week of System Centre Configuration Manager 2012

Microsoft Technology User Groups Ireland – Four presentations from the System Centre User Group

Paul Keely from Infront Consulting, a local MVP is kicking off the Irish System Centre User Group (a Special Interest Group under the overall Microsoft Technology User Groups Ireland).

So it’s not a week (it’s four days), and it’s not four days (it’s four, one hour slots).

These will be online, Lync meetings running from 13:30 – 14:30.  If you’re interested in attending please email me and I’ll send you the meeting invitation.  We’ll fix this for future meetings (we’re just waiting on our Office 365 tenancy).

 

System Centre Configuration Manager (SCCM) - Design

Monday 19th November

In this session we will look at all the components of a SCCM design.  We will cover all design components from the CAS, Primary Site and Secondary Site.  Then we will look at the Distribution Point how its changed and what we can do with it.  We will then move on to WSUS and End Point protection, and we will finish with the client and what design decisions we need to think about.

Tuesday 20th November

In this session we will look at application deployment methods and the application catalogue.  Application detection methods and application approvals.  User device affinity.  Software Update deployment and end point protection

Wednesday 21st November

In this session we will look at OSD, we will capture a WIM, look at the different deployment methods. WIM servicing and automatic updates to the WIM.

System Centre Configuration Manager (SCCM) – Operations & Troubleshooting

Thursday 22nd November

In this session we will look at site health and status messages. How to troubleshoot and some good tools to help find out the health of your SCCM environment, custom reports and  DCM.
