JetStressUI (WR2.1) alows multiple disk drives per storage group

To reduce the initial test database creation/population time, each disk drive will host as many databases as possible.

The number of databases will be decided based on the number of disk drives that one storage group has:

  • 1 disk drive: There will be 6 databases on each disk drive (so, the storage group will have 6 databases).
  • 2 disk drives: There will be 3 databases on each disk drive (so, the storage group will have 6 databases).
  • 3 disk drives: There will be 2 databases on each disk drive (so, the storage group will have 6 databases) --- See the bitmap below.
  • 4 disk drives: There will be 1 databases on each disk drive (so, the storage group will have 4 databases).
  • 5 disk drives: There will be 1 databases on each disk drive (so, the storage group will have 5 databases).

Here are some useful cases:

  • If the user has 8 disk drives and uses 2 disk drives for 4 storage groups, the total number of databases will be 24 (each drive will host 3 databases).
  • If the user has 12 disk drives and uses 3 disk drives for 4 storage groups, the total number of databases will be 24 (each drive will host 2 databases).

NOTE: The initial test database creation time can be reduced by the factor of the total number of databases.
