Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 Release Dates Revealed!
During the keynote today at Computex 2009 in Taipei, Microsoft Corporate VP Steve Guggenheimer revealed the release dates for Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2! Yup, you heard right. The Release To Manufacturing (RTM) date will be the second half of July and the General Availability (GA) will be October 22nd!
This is indeed exciting news and I’m sure everyone is counting down the days (ok, maybe not everyone is counting down the days, but I am).

What's the estimate then for availability off the shelf for installations on existing hardware, etc.?
