CRM Online - Start Here

I've been getting a few inquiries about what do I do with my CRM Online instances after getting the URL. So based on our early adopter program, I can shed some light on this topic. Of course, the OA release could differ so don't hold me to the fire... Here is a basic list of things to consider.

1. Define you business process. On paper, a white board, chalk board, etch-a-sketch. Whatever works for you, the important step is to understand your business process as it relates to CRM.

2 .A good place to start is the implementation guide.
CRM 4 Implementation Guide
This guide is specific to installing and planning. For CRM Online, you only need to consider the planning process. There are lots of tools to help out such as

Tool

Sample Sales Process Flowchart (.vsd)

A sample flowchart of sales processes.

Sample Service Process Flowchart (.vsd)

Configuration Data Collection (.xls)

2. Set up Security Roles - CRM Online comes with defaults.

3. Add Users.

4. Install CRM Outlook Client or use the Email Router

A nice read but remember to download the appropriate client.

5. Create workflows to automate your process

6. Customize entities - add attributes, change names, etc.

7. Create subjects, templates, knowledge articles

8. Import data

Again, this is a simple list of items you would want to cover.
I'll post an update after Open Access starts and provide updated links to downloads.
