Windows 2008 Certification

I often get asked about the changes to the certification roadmap for Windows 2008, but I have never had the time to go find the answer out as it did not seem straightforward.  So, I always said to the person asking that they should go see www.microsoft.com/certification as it is all explained there.  Well, thankfully, someone else has blogged about this with the answer!  Go see it here:

Thanks for the comment Olie. The answer to your question is easy, do the Windows 2008 exams instead of the Windows 2003 ones.  Also, the upgrade path from Windows 2000 to Windows 2003 expired last year so any exams you have taken may need resitting anyway if you did the Windows 2003 version first. I am new in the IT world.I want to start with Microsoft certifications.Should I do MCSE 2003 first or MCITS? I know u need seven exams for the MCSE 2003.which is four core newroking exams ,two elective exams and one design exam. Can someone explain clearly what is needed for MCITS? as a beginner I don't want to waste my time doing MCSE 2003 then later it gets retired. Where do I begin?
