Welcome to the party, IBM!
I learned this afternoon from Gray Knowlton, that a commenter on Brian's blog had linked to a couple of interesting items over on IBM.com. It looks like IBM has at least a couple of products that are now supporting the Open XML formats.
The WebSphere Portal for z/OS has some information about how to set up Document Conversion Services for Open XML documents:
https://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/wpdoc/v6r0/index.jsp?topic=/com.ibm.wp.zos.doc/wpf/dcs_info.html
And DB2 Content Manager V8.4 supports Open XML as well:
https://www-1.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21288972
With so many IBM people involved in the DIS 29500 standards process worldwide, it's good to see that they're putting their growing Open XML expertise to work!

So what? IBM supports the format in applications and opposes its standardization.Anonymous

True, Fred, but IBM also claims that the format can't be supported, and they actively discourage people from using it. You can find numerous examples of those opinions on their anti-Open XML blogs.Anonymous
