Windows Media Center 2005 at the Melbourne PC Users Group on Wednesday Mar 2nd, 2005 at 7:00pm

I'll be running a session for the Melbourne PC Users Group on Windows Media Center 2005, come along, it'll be great fun!!

When: Wednesday March 2nd, 7pm
Location: Melbourne University Hawthorn Campus, 442 Auburn Road, Hawthorn

See https://www.melbpc.org.au/ for more detail

It'll be a great opportunity to see this system in action and you see just how you can view all your digital (TV, Movies, Music, Pictures, News Feeds etc) content in the comfort of your living room and yes all from one remote control!!

If you came to the session please post your questions here and I'll do my best to answer them for you in a timely manner:-)

Cheers, Dave

Hi, how can you join a W2K/W2K3 domain with MCE? Thanks...

The only way I know of is at installation time when you are given an option to join a domain. If you don’t take this option at setup time then the system effectively becomes a Windows XP Home Edition based installation which does not include domain support… I also believe there may be a downside of putting a MCE system in to a domain if you want to use an MCE extender which I’ve been told relies on Fast User Switch only available if the machine is not in a domain. I’ve not researched this issue any further as I don’t have an MCE Extender (yet)…
