Understanding Web Services – UK event, November 30th, London

Later this month I will be running a one day MSDN session around understanding Web Service – I hope some of you reading this blog will be able to make it. It’s a free event, aimed at developers and system designers, and really anyone interested in web services.

Web services is one of those topics that most developers know a little about, but not that many have explored the topic in depth, and are up to date on the latest standards, etc, so this is why we are putting on the event.

To book – simply visit https://msevents-eu.microsoft.com/cui/EventDetail.aspx?culture=en-GB&eventid=118751768

Here’s some of the blurb about the day I put together that is on the web site

The web services day is designed to keep attendees abreast of the latest developments in the current and emerging web service standards world, provide an insight into the role web services can play in a range of different scenarios, from smart client through to back end system integration, and give an update on the latest products and development tools provided by Microsoft to assist with web service development, including Web Service Enhancements (WSE) 2.0. It also tries to address real world issues around web service development, with a special focus on security, and update attendees on Microsoft road map, including the latest news on "Indigo"

Topics include:

•The “Zen” of Web services

•Smart Client and Web Services

•Application Integration / Business to Business and Web Services
