Help New Zealand students get into technology

imageLooking for an opportunity to help the next generation get a head start in technology?

Each year we run a global competition for students called Imagine cup.  Students get together and come up with technology solutions to a problem (or problems) they've identified.

One of these groups will be selected to represent New Zealand at the Imagine Cup finals in France.

Right now we have a need for some mentors to help these groups out.  We find a local industry mentor who can give the group guidance in the form of technical direction, business guidance and similar.

The projects are based on Microsoft technologies, so if you are a .Net developer you probably know all you need to know.

In terms of commitments, this depends on the students you work with and the level of involvement you want, but you should probably expect it to be 1-4 hours per week for a few weeks.

We need mentors in the following locations now:

  • Auckland x 2
  • Wellington x 1
  • Hamilton x 1
  • Dunedin x 1
  • Palmerston North x 1

If you want to get involved with any of these, please contact Paul Lo (email him from here).
