Microsoft Robotics Studio CTP Now Available

The world for hobbyist and enthusiast developers just got a little more interesting today with the announcement that Microsoft's getting into robotics. Robotics Studio is a development tool designed to provide a uniform and consistent way to program robots including a visual design surface to model robotics programming whether your need is for work, (like Kuka's industrial robots) or for fun (like the Lego NXT). The programming model uses the concurrency and coordination runtime (CCR) and you can program robots in VB, C#, C++, or even browser JavaScript.

We'll definitely be adding more Robotics Studio content to Coding4Fun in the future

That would be some good news indeed. Seems like Coding4fun content used to be updated much more frequently. Did all of the authors run out of ideas or were they all in the same unfortunate bus accident?

    LOL,

I can assure you that everyone is alive and well. We've had content ready to go but our publishing systems on MSDN have been backed up and it hasn't gotten out. There should be some very cool stuff on there by end of week. We'll likely have a Coding4Fun v2 later this year so I'd love to hear what feedback you have on what you'd like to see.

    Thanks,
    -Dan
