How to screw up the 4th of july.

  1. Get a bunch of friends together
  2. Go to Gasworks Park early enough to get great seats
  3. Listen to awesome music play nonstop all afternoon long
  4. Eat some yummy food that you bought and also brought from the local vendors
  5. Drink lots and lots of bottled water to prevent that pesky onset of dehydration
  6. Work on your tan a bit in the comfortably warm sun
  7. Throw the frisbee around (only hitting other people twice)
  8. Look at all the kites flying overhead
  9. Watch as the crowd got denser and denser until you realized how incredibly packed the whole place was
  10. Look at your seat and recall why it was a good idea to get there early
  11. Read one of your favorite books in the sun
  12. Catch up with friends and family with your free weekend minutes
  13. watch the sunset
  14. take a nap
  15. Watch an amazing fireworks show from one of the most beautiful spots in seattle
  16. Walk all the way back from Fremont to Beltown since the transt was so overloaded it was impossible to get a bus. (surprisingly fun, especially in the perfect weather of this evening)
  17. REALIZE AFTER ALL THAT YOU WEREN'T ABLE TO TAKE A SINGLE PICTURE SINCE YOU COULDN'T FIND YOUR CAMERA IN THE MORNING AFTER SPENDING 20 MINUTES RANSACKING THE APARTMENT LOOKING FOR IT

Oh well, at least I'll have the memories.

You took Aurora to get home? I would have crossed the Fremont bridge and walked along Westlake. It's a much nicer walk and you end up in about the same place. Plus you don't have to walk uphill as much to get to the Fremont bridge from Gasworks. :)

Scott: Actually I'm not sure how we got home. It was dark and we were following the '26' bus stops. It's possible we went a different route. I'll ask LukeH tomorrow.

Eric: That's awful!! Nothing like that happened this time. Everything seemed to be really safe and we really enjoyed ourselves.

Could be worse. You could wait until evening, and then motorbike to the same place you went last year, only to find the police have blocked it off and won't let you in, even though you are on a bike and won't take any space. Then you find there is nowhere to park at all, and so you have to go home and watch it on the telly.
