Office 2007 on Windows XP

Microsoft® Office Professional 2007

I was in a meeting with the Office team earlier and they made an interesting point about the fact that because we launched Windows Vista and 2007 Microsoft Office system at the same time and with the tagline "Better Together", some customers think that they are dependant on one another (which is more than understandable)

So I took a look at the system requirements on the Office pages:

Operating system
Microsoft Windows(R) XP with Service Pack (SP) 2, Windows Server(R) 2003 with SP1, or later operating system.

So that's one myth busted for today!

I don't think that the "myth" is helped by things like your 23 April newsletter which refers to the "benefits of deploying Windows Vista and Office 2007" I'm sure some people will benefit from both but perhaps if they weren't always mentioned together people would realise that you can have Office 2007 (which is excellent) without Vista (no comment!)
