CyberSummit gets kids excited about tech

At Microsoft, our passion lies in our ability to help prepare the next generation with key technology skills that will position them for future success. We share this drive with the Boys & Girls Clubs of America, and for the past 10 years, through our joint Club Tech program, Microsoft has provided millions of America’s youth with the opportunity to engage with technology.

For the second year in a row, we sponsored CyberSummit, a two-day event that introduced members of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Boston, as well as area Boys & Girls Clubs that are part of the Intel Computer Clubhouse Network, to different technologies in a fun and social way. And this year’s CyberSummit was amazing.
Held April 22 and 23 at the Yawkey Club of Roxbury in Boston, more than 100 kids participated in a variety of workshops such as social networking, Xbox game design with Kodu, creating digital music, and interacting with Surface.

Our goal with events like CyberSummit is to get kids passionate about technology, encourage them to work collaboratively and creatively, and to introduce skills they will need for future success. The kids walk away feeling confident in their ability to use technology and excited to learn more. And that is powerful.
