Microsoft Certified Professional aged 9

According to News.com:

"A Pakistani girl has qualified as a Microsoft Certified Professional at the age of 9.

Arfa Karim of Multan has officially become the youngest MCP in Pakistan, and one of the youngest in the world. Karim, now 10, met with Microsoft Chairman Bill Gates last week--an experience she later described as second only to visiting Disneyland.

To attain the credential--at any age--a person has to display technical proficiency in areas such as .Net, Visual Studio 6.0 and Windows Server 2003. "

Could you imagine? "Oh Arfa, please could you put switch off the Powerpuff Girls DVD now and complete the relational database and validate with DataSet using DataTable object. Then diagram ADO.NET object model before you go to bed please...'

It just goes to show that Pakistan is misrepresented in the western media as a state where there has a lot to do with terrorism. A lot of progress has been made in Pakistan and it is nice to see it get recognized. BTW you might want to check the location again, I thought she was from Faisalabad not Multan.

    Interesting :-)

I read an article on her earlier, though the pic on the article suggested she's older than 9 - looked at least 13.

    Any one can be MCP.
It is like reading a book and giving Exam.
There is no weight in being MCP.

I agree with Norman and MCP Owner. Well, but at other hand it is not suppose to easy task if MS still interested to issue such certification (is it not another way to make money). The only point that make this point more weighted is that the progress of IT industry in Pakistan.
