A little sad

As I was driving to work today a thought came to mind: I will only get to 'visit' a tiny, tiny fraction of the total web in my entire lifetime. The rest of it will be unvisited by me and unkown to me.

I don't know why, but this hard reality made me a little sad. I could have sworn a little tear well in my eye...maybe it's all the rain we've had recently?

And before you point it out, yes, I do realize the above makes me sad a person.

Look at it the other way you will see more of it and shape more of its future than billions of others who may only ever visit one or two pages. Happier now?

Doesn't it just mean that everytime you open your web browser, there's a new adventure out there waiting for you? The constant anticipation knowing that out there somewhere is a REALLY cool site you haven't discovered yet? (such as you putting me onto allofmp3.com - thanks!)

Did you know I stumbled upon your blog about 2 years ago now, and have been reading it ever since, due to the content (about the Web itself :), and technologies)? Me, a total strange found and read and kept reading your website, although I could have just continued navigating and it would have been something lost on the massive Web forever.
You sir, have made your mark in web history.

Well, maybe you could be a little less ambitious and try to read every book in the Library of Congress :-)

Considering some of the things on the internet, do you really want to see everything? ;)
