Vote for future Entity Framework and Data Services Features

The information in this post is out of date.

Visit msdn.com/data/ef for the latest information on current and past releases of EF.

As we get closer to the launch of VS2010, we’re beginning to shift a bit of our focus to planning for the next round, and we’re looking for your help! To help us prioritize our future work, we’d like to hear your feedback – is there a feature that you’ve always wanted to have?  To make it easier to submit feedback we’ve created a Connect site that will allow you provide feedback directly to our teams (Entity Framework, WCF Data Services, etc) we’ve created a Connect site.  The site will help you to file bugs if you are currently testing out VS2010, request a feature you’d like to see in future versions or vote up/down features and bugs previously entered by other users.

Be heard! Visit our Connect site now to file your favorite feature request and vote on the ones already there.

Please.... Write something about VS2010 RC. What features of EF 4 included in RC and what will be including in VS2010 RTM. What bug will be fixed? Thanks, Achu.

What about bugs/suggestions already submitted under the Visual Studio/.NET connection?  Should we submit them again? Or would it be possible to have existing items moved to the new section?  It would be a shame if we had to resubmit them as we'd lose all the existing votes and comments. As for my top priorities, here's my top two (from the VS/.NET connection): https://connect.microsoft.com/VisualStudio/feedback/details/365701/entity-framework-should-support-mapping-to-enum https://connect.microsoft.com/VisualStudio/feedback/details/522494/entity-framework-stored-procedure-generation

Hi, I think you should change the colors. The entity framework designer colors are terrible. Microsoft products always look chic and stylish - what happened this time? You should make them customizable or have a chat with marketing. The linq colors are much better. Cheers Craig.

You should setup a suggestion forum just like the WPF team and also the Silverlight team have done. http://dotnet.uservoice.com/forums/40583-wpf-feature-suggestions?filter=top&page=1

Entity Framework MUST send SQL statents in a batch. Order with 100 details MUST NOT be 100+1 SQL commands, it should be 1 command with 100+1 statements. This is very important for performance.

Please, add second-level cache. It's the main need to make EF a real solid ORM solution. Hope this will be supported in next release. Dominik.
