Entity Framework Orcas Beta 1 - EDM Wizard Fixed

Late last week, after bits had been finalized, we found a bug in the ADO.NET Entity Data Model Wizard that shipped with Visual Studio “Orcas” beta 1. The problem has now been corrected.

 

Please download and install the patch available at: https://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=f69e9eb8-0ebd-4fba-a4cc-2050297ba75b&displaylang=en to fix the problem.

    When you access the mentioned Url, you get following message The download you requested is unavailable. If you continue to see this message when trying to access this download, go to the "Search for a Download" area on the Download Center home page.

    Hi Ajay - Try refreshing the page.  If it still doesn't work, try again in 30 minutes.   I suspect that the update is propogating through the system.   Thanks, Mike Kaufman Microsoft Corp.

    Seems to work if you copy and paste the url, but not when you click on it. (And I'm pretty sure the href is the same...but whatever...)

    Nice fix! The namespace for the schema it generates is an interesting one though.

    Can't download Beta 1 from http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/vstudio/aa700831.aspx, and can't download the fix neither.

    I attempted to install the fix and am still not getting the EDM designer when I double-click the .csdl I created. I simply get the xml.

    It appears as though I am not the only one with this issue... "I attempted to install the fix and am still not getting the EDM designer when I double-click the .csdl I created. I simply get the xml." I tried to apply the patch to both a DVD install, and VM install, and am getting the same problem in both scenarios. Since other users report having success with this patch, I have to assume there might be some other issue that I am experiencing. Any idea's would be great as I am primarily interested in using beta 1 to evaluate the entity framework & edm tools. Thank You
