Known Universal Print issues
Preview text still showing in portal UI
- Issue: The "Settings" page of the Universal Print admin portal still shows "macOS Support (preview)" text even though the support is in General Availability."
- Workarounds: ❌ There is no workaround.

Authentication
Authentication state is reset when closing the app
- Issue: After closing and re-opening the app, it may show that you are no longer signed in. Printing will still work in this state, and clicking "Sign in" again will show the correct state.

Login dialog popup prompt
- Issue: If you're signed in to multiple accounts from different tenants in Safari, you may see this popup when using the app. Does not apply to customers using platform SSO (i.e. Intune)
- Workarounds: ➡️ In Safari, sign out and forget the other accounts.
- Planned Fixes: ✅ The fix is planned.
Other
Print jobs do not appear in the print queue
- Issue: After submitting a print job, opening the printer's queue shows no jobs.
- Workarounds: ❌ There is no workaround.
- Planned Fixes: ✅ This issue is fixed in macOS Sonoma 14.2.
When opening the Universal Print app, system settings doesn't automatically navigate to the Universal Print page
- Issue: When a user opens the Universal Print app (e.g., from the desktop, Finder, Spotlight, or Mission Control), the System Settings app launches and does not navigate to the Universal Print page.
- Workarounds: ➡️ Manually navigate to the Universal Print page by scrolling to the bottom of the navigation menu and selecting Universal Print.
- Planned Fixes: ✅ The fix is planned.
Printers with known issues
The below printer models are known to have issues when used with Universal Print on macOS when connected directly to Universal Print. Print jobs sent to these printers are likely to be aborted. We're looking into possible solutions.
Tip
You can still use these printers with Universal Print on macOS if you register them using the connector instead of registering them directly with Universal Print.
