The following figure shows an example of time series and planning data, the ensuing numbers corresponding with the numerals in the figure:

  1. Insights - This FastTab includes KPIs for the current time series, including total quantity, average quantity, and standard deviation of quantity.

  2. Timeline chart - Graphical representation of the selected time series.

  3. Time series values - You can view data for the selected time series in a table.

By selecting the General tab, you can adjust basic settings of the time series. These settings affect the way that the list page displays the time series. On the General tab, you can adjust the following settings:

  • Name

  • Description

  • Category

  • Time buckets

  • Allow manual edits

Customize the time series chart and data table layouts

Demand planning offers numerous features that help you effectively analyze your time series. For instance, you can personalize the chart layout by adjusting style, color, and size. Additionally, overlaying charts or data tables with other time series helps facilitate easier comparisons.

To configure these options, open a time series. On the Timeline FastTab or Time series values FastTab, select Add data to open the Select Data dialog.

You can add a new time series or data table to the chart by selecting Add. Then, the system prompts you to select an existing time series. If you want to customize the Chart styling or Grid formatting settings of the existing time series, select Customize.

Time series versions, version control, and change log

In Demand Planning, you can directly edit cell values so that you can modify data for any time series. The system automatically records each edit in the change log, which is visible to all users, along with details of when and by whom the change was made. Periodically, you can save your edits as a new version and then name that new version for clarity. You can access and review any version from the version history, and you can revert to a previous version anytime to update the current dataset.

To view the change log and version history for a time series, open the time series and then select Version history on the Action Pane.
