Deploy Scale-Out File Server

Use the following steps to deploy Scale-Out File Server in your organization:

• Step 1: Install Prerequisites for Scale-Out File Server

• Step 2: Configure Scale-Out File Server

• Step 3: Configure Hyper-V to Use Scale-Out File Server

• Step 4: Configure Microsoft SQL Server to Use Scale-Out File Server

Important

To take full advantage of Scale-Out File Server, all servers running the server applications that are using scale-out file shares should be running Windows Server 2012 R2 or Windows Server 2012. If the server application is running on Windows Server 2008 or Windows Server 2008 R2, the servers can connect to the scale-out file shares, but they cannot take advantage of any of the new features. If the server application is running Windows Server 2003, the server receives access-denied error when connecting to the scale-out file share.
