This checklist includes the tasks required to deploy DPM

Set up data storage—Set up tapes for long-term and short-term storage. Set up disks, and optionally Azure, for short-term storage. Be sure you have prerequisites in place before you begin deployment. |

Organize the data sources into protection groups. After protection groups are created initial replication of sources you want to protect occurs, and then backup and synchronization between source data and replicas will begin in accordance with data types and protection group settings. The deployment section has walkthroughs for creating protection groups for specific Microsoft workloads. |
