EventChronicle.SqlStatements Property

Gets the Transact-SQL statement for an event chronicle table.

Namespace: Microsoft.SqlServer.Management.Nmo
Assembly: Microsoft.SqlServer.Smo (in microsoft.sqlserver.smo.dll)

Syntax

'Declaration
Public ReadOnly Property SqlStatements As StringCollection
public StringCollection SqlStatements { get; }
public:
property StringCollection^ SqlStatements {
    StringCollection^ get ();
}
/** @property */
public StringCollection get_SqlStatements ()
public function get SqlStatements () : StringCollection

Property Value

A StringCollection object containing Transact-SQL statements.

Remarks

Each EventChronicle must have one or more Transact-SQL statements specified using the SqlStatements property.

Use the methods of the StringCollection to add or alter the statements.

The Transact-SQL statements create the event chronicle table used to store supplemental event data. Include statements that drop or rename the event chronicle table if it already exists. If you do not drop or rename an existing event chronicle table, you will receive an "object exists" error when you update the application. You may also want to include indexing statements.

Example

The following examples show how to define an event chronicle and add it to the collection of chronicles for an event class. The event chronicle has two Transact-SQL statements: one that adds a table that is the event chronicle and one that defines an index for the event chronicle table.

// Define a chronicle for the class
EventChronicle ec1 =
    new EventChronicle(flightEvents, "FlightEventChonicle");
ec1.SqlStatements.Add(
    "CREATE TABLE MyAppSchema.FlightEventChronicle " +
    " (LeavingFrom nvarchar(6), GoingTo nvarchar(6), " +
    " Price float);");
ec1.SqlStatements.Add(
    "CREATE INDEX FlightEventChronicleIndex  " +
    "ON MyAppSchema.FlightEventChronicle " +
    "( LeavingFrom, GoingTo );");
flightEvents.EventChronicles.Add(ec1);
' Define a chronicle for the class.
Dim ec1 As EventChronicle = _
    New EventChronicle(flightEvents, "FlightEventChonicle")
ec1.SqlStatements.Add( _
    "CREATE TABLE MyAppSchema.FlightEventChronicle " + _
    " (LeavingFrom nvarchar(6), GoingTo nvarchar(6), " + _
    " Price float);")
ec1.SqlStatements.Add( _
    "CREATE INDEX FlightEventChronicleIndex " + _
    "ON MyAppSchema.FlightEventChronicle " + _
    "( LeavingFrom, GoingTo );")
flightEvents.EventChronicles.Add(ec1)
