How to: Edit an Alert (SQL Server Management Studio)

This topic describes how to edit a Microsoft SQL Server Agent alert. You can change the database for which the alert is raised, the events that alerts respond to, the operators who are notified, and whether the alert error text is included in alert notifications.

To edit an alert

  1. In Object Explorer, connect to an instance of the SQL Server Database Engine, and then expand that instance.

  2. Expand SQL Server Agent.

  3. Expand Alerts, right-click an alert, and then click Properties.

  4. Update the alert properties on the General,Response, andOptions pages.
