How to: Create a New Attribute Manually
This procedure describes how to create a new attribute in a dimension by using the Attributes pane in the Dimension Designer.
To create a new attribute manually
In Dimension Designer, open the dimension in which you want to create the attribute.
Make sure that the Attributes pane is in grid format.
Right-click the Attributes pane, point to Show Attributes in, and then click Grid.
Scroll to the last row of the grid, and then click <new attribute>.
Type a name for the attribute to set the Name property, and then press Enter.
You can accept the default values for the attribute usage, type, key column, and name column, or you can select new values from the drop-down list.
Right-click the attribute and then click Properties to configure its other properties.
