Configuring Storage

You can use the Storage Settings dialog box to configure storage. To open the Storage Settings dialog box, in Cube Designer, on the Partitions tab, click Storage Settings. This allows you to pick one of the standard settings for relational OLAP (ROLAP), hybrid OLAP (HOLAP), or multidimensional OLAP (MOLAP) storage, or to configure custom settings for the storage mode and proactive caching. Storage can be configured separately for each partition of each measure group in a cube. You can also configure the default storage settings for a cube or measure group. Storage is configured on the Partitions tab in the Cube Wizard. The Partitions tab lists the measure groups in a cube. You can expand any measure group to view its partitions. Storage settings for partitions are set in the Storage Options dialog box, which can be opened in one of several different ways.
