How to: Start a Clustered Instance of Notification Services
When an instance of Notification Services runs on a failover cluster, you must start the instance of Notification Services through the Cluster Administrator. If you start the instance by using other methods, the instance will not fail over.
To start a clustered instance of Notification Services
In Control Panel, open Administrative Tools, and then open Cluster Administrator.
In the left pane, expand Groups.
Select the group that contains the Generic Service for the instance of Notification Services.
In the right pane, right-click Generic Service and then click Bring Online.
