How to: Publish Report Samples (Report Designer)
You can use Report Designer in Business Intelligence Development Studio to upload sample report definition files to the report server. The sample reports and the AdventureWorks shared data source are included in the report server project file that installs with the sample. When you publish the reports, the shared data source and the reports are published to the report server. If you do not have access to Report Designer, you can use Report Manager to upload the reports.
To upload sample reports using Report Designer
To run the application, click Start, point to Programs, point to Microsoft SQL Server 2005, and then click Business Intelligence Development Studio.
On the File menu, point to Open, and then click Project/Solution.
Navigate to the folder to which the sample reports were installed.
Click AdventureWorksSampleReports.rptproj, and then click Open.
On the standard toolbar, select the Production solution configuration. (The default configuration is Debug.)
Publish the reports. On the Debug menu, click Start.
Note
The sample report project is set to publish reports to the report server on the local computer. For information about changing the target server, see Debugging and Publishing Reports.
When publishing is complete, Report Designer opens Microsoft Internet Explorer. Click a report name to view the report.
