Remarks

When it is possible, we recommend that users enter security credentials at run time. If you must store credentials, use the cryptographic services provided by the Microsoft .NET Framework.

For a push subscription, the Distribution Agent always connects to the Distributor locally by using Windows Integrated Authentication, and this property is ignored.

Stored passwords that are used to connect to the Distributor are never returned. Accessing this property will generate a PasswordWriteOnlyException exception.

This property is used only when DistributorSecurityMode is set to Standard.

Thread Safety

Any public static (Shared in Microsoft Visual Basic) members of this type are thread safe. Any instance members are not guaranteed to be thread safe.
