NSInstance.SqlPassword Property

Sets the password of the Microsoft SQL Server login account your application uses to connect to SQL Server.

Namespace: Microsoft.SqlServer.NotificationServices
Assembly: Microsoft.SqlServer.NotificationServices (in microsoft.sqlserver.notificationservices.dll)

Syntax

'Declaration
Public WriteOnly Property SqlPassword As String
public string SqlPassword { set; }
public:
virtual property String^ SqlPassword {
    void set (String^ value) sealed;
}
/** @property */
public final void set_SqlPassword (String value)
public final function set SqlPassword (value : String)

Property Value

A String containing the password of the SQL Server login account.

Remarks

This property needs to be set only if you are using SQL Server Authentication to connect to the SQL Server instance that hosts your Notification Services databases.

The SqlPassword property is used in conjunction with the SqlUser property to specify the username and password of the SQL Server login account that the application uses to access the Notification Services databases. If these values are not specified, Microsoft Windows Authentication is used.

Important

Microsoft strongly recommends that you use Windows Authentication rather than SQL Server Authentication. Windows Authentication has more security features, such as secure validation and encryption of passwords, auditing, password expiration, minimum password length, and account lockout after multiple invalid login requests.

Thread Safety

Any public static (Shared in Microsoft Visual Basic) members of this type are thread safe. Any instance members are not guaranteed to be thread safe.
