How to: Add, Change, or Remove a Background Color (Report Builder)

You can apply a background color to a text box, a cell, or a group of cells within a report. A background color is applied using the Fill tab in the Format dialog box or by clicking the Fill Color button on the Format toolbar. By default, the background color is white. A background color cannot be applied to the entire report.

To apply a background color

  1. In Report Builder design mode, select a text box or cell(s).

  2. On the Format menu, click Fill.

    The Format dialog box opens with the Fill tab selected.

  3. In the Color area, select a color.

  4. Click OK.

To remove a background color

  1. In Report Builder design mode, select a text box or cell(s).

  2. On the Format menu, click Fill.

    The Format dialog box opens with the Fill tab selected.

  3. In the Color area, select White.

  4. Click OK.
