Parameters

  Type: System..::.String
  The error message that explains the reason for the exception.

• entityName
  Type: System..::.String
  The name of the database component which failed.

• entityType
  Type: System..::.String
  The type of database component which failed.

• inner
  Type: System..::.Exception
  The exception that is the cause of the current exception, or a null reference (Nothing in Visual Basic) if no inner exception is specified.

Remarks

If the inner parameter is not a nullNothingnullptra null reference (Nothing in Visual Basic) reference, the current exception is raised in a catch block that handles the inner exception.

The exception that is thrown when an unexpected database failure is encountered by the catalog server.

All catalog exceptions, including the CatalogDatabaseException are derived from the CatalogException class. This is the exception that is thrown when an unexpected database failure is encountered by the catalog server.
