System Attributes Dialog Box

Use the System Attributes dialog box to define options that are used to manage an LDAP source partition. The System Attributes dialog box appears after you click Next in the Partition dialog box when OLEDB-ANSI Provider was selected in the Data Sourcedialog box.

Use this

To do this

Parent URL

Type the location in the directory tree where new objects will be created. This is relative to the root.

Use the same credentials for all users

Select to force the Profile service to use the credentials for this partition for all binds.

Allow Simple Bind

Select to force the Profile service to send passwords in clear text.

Dynamic Container

Select to connect to a dynamic store such as the Internet Locator Service (ILS).

One-Level

Select this option to perform searches in the directory.

Sub-Tree

Select this option to perform sub-tree searches in the directory.

Domain Name

Type the domain name for the Active Directory directory service server. Use the computer name for non-Active Directory sources.

Discover

Click to retrieve the domain name for the Active Directory server.
