IIS Metabase Deployment Dialog Box
Use the IIS Metabase Deployment dialog box to specify or change the virtual directory settings for an Internet Information Services (IIS) Web site that is associated with the replication of a virtual Web server. The metabase is a hierarchical store of configuration information and schema that you use to configure IIS. A virtual directory maps a client-accessible directory to a physical directory. You can change the virtual directory settings to modify the permissions that clients have on the virtual directory.
An IIS Metabase replication is useful for cloning one server running IIS to another server or for cloning the IIS metabase to a Web farm. This requires that you specify an IIS Web site name to map to the destination servers that are running IIS. This mapping identifies the IIS Web site on which to create the virtual directories.
