How to Edit a Catalog Set

This topic describes how to edit a catalog set. After you create a catalog set, you can change which customers have access to which catalog sets.

To change a catalog set

  1. To open Catalog Manager, click Start, point to Microsoft Commerce Server 2009 , and then click Catalog Manager.

  2. In Catalog Manager, the Views pane, click CatalogSets.

  3. In the CatalogSets pane, select the catalog set that you want to edit.

  4. In the Task pane, click Edit this CatalogSet.

  5. If the catalog set is static, on the <Catalog set name> screen, on the Static CatalogSet tab, do the following:

    Name

    View the name of the catalog set.

    You cannot edit this box.

    Description

    Type a description for the catalog set.

    Available Catalogs

    Select the individual catalogs you want to add to the catalog set, and then click Add.

    The catalogs you select move from the Available Catalogs box to the Assigned to set box.

    Assigned to Set

    View a list of the catalogs added to this catalog set.

    If you remove a catalog from the Assigned catalogs box, the catalog will automatically move to the Available catalogs box.

  6. If the catalog set is dynamic, on the <Catalog Set Name> screen, on the Expression-based CatalogSet tab, do the following:

    Name

    Type a name for the catalog set.

    Description

    Type a description for the catalog set.

    Add All Catalogs

    Select to have this catalog set represent all catalogs, even when you add new catalogs.

    Do not select this check box if you want to specify individual catalogs for this catalog set.

    Expression

    Click Add to open the Expression Builder dialog box.

    You use the Expression Builder dialog box to create an expression on which you will base the catalog set.

  7. In the Expression Builder dialog box, do the following:

    From the drop-down list, select And or Or if you want to create an additional condition.

    Field

    Select the catalog property that you want to use in this condition from the drop-down list.

    Condition

    Select an operator type for the expression from the drop-down list. Available types of conditions are operators such as Is equal to and Is greater than.

    Value

    Type the value to be evaluated by the expression.

    Add

    Click to add an additional And/Or condition to the expression.

  8. Click OK.

  9. To view the catalogs that you are including in the catalog set, click Refresh.
