How to Add a Filter to a Web Content Project

This topic provides steps to add a filter to a Web content project in Commerce Server 2009 staging. You add a filter to include or exclude specific assets, such as files or directories, in a staging project.

To add a filter to a Web content project

  1. Click Start, point to Programs, point to Microsoft Commerce Server 2009 , and then click Commerce Server Staging.

  2. In Microsoft Management Console (MMC), in the left pane, expand Commerce Server Staging, expand <server name>, and then click Projects.

  3. In the right pane, right-click the project that you want to change, and then click Properties.

  4. In the Project Properties dialog box, on the Filter tab, click Add.

  5. In the Add Filter dialog box, do the following:

    Include/Exclude

    Select whether you want the filter to include or exclude specific items from being staged from the drop-down list.

    File/Directory

    Select whether you want to include or exclude a file or directory from the drop-down list.

    Value

    Type the file name, file name extension, or directory that you want to include or exclude.

    Include subdirectories

    Select this option to include subdirectories in the filter.

    You can use an asterisk (*) as a valid wild-card character. CSS does not support other wild-card characters, such as the question mark (?) or period (.).

  6. Click OK.

  7. In the Project Properties dialog box, click OK.
