Advanced Web Log Import Properties, Inferences Tab

Use the Advanced Web Log Import Properties dialog box, Inferences Files tab, to customize the assumptions made during Web log data import about users and visits in order to best meet the analysis needs of your organization. Commerce Server tries to identify users based on the properties in the Web log file. Inferences refer to the process of identifying unique users based on the user and visit data in the Web log file.

To do this

Minutes of idle time to allow before visit ends

Type the number of minutes of idle time before a visit is considered ended. The default time is 30 minutes.

Use Commerce Server identification cookies for inferences

Select to use Commerce Server identification cookies to distinguish individual users.

Use usernames for inferences

Select to use user names to distinguish individual users.

Use custom cookie identifiers

Select to use custom cookies to distinguish individual users.

Enter new custom cookie identifier

Type the identifier of the custom cookie you want to use for inferences.

Add

Click to add the new custom cookie identifier to the inference list.

Remove

Click to remove the selected line from the inference list.
