Manage more than one WSUS Servers from one console window.

Take full advantage of Remote Console functionality of WSUS3 UI, by managing all your WSUS Servers from the same MMC console window.

You won't need to TS to another machine to manage the WSUS server on that machine.

 

Follow these simple steps to add a remote WSUS Server to your WSUS MMC console tree.

 

(1) Right Click on "Update Services" node, and click "connect to server".

(2) Specify the machine name of another wsus server that you want to manage.

(3) Select if you are using SSL.

(4) Specify correct port number.

(5) Click "Connect".

    I have been testing WSUS 3.0.  Is it possible to manage a WSUS server from a non-WSUS machine like an admin XP workstation?

    How do you connect to the WSUS server from the MMC (on XP) when the server is not a member of the AD.

    "You do not have the permissions required to access the  WSUS server..."

    Any ideas?

    Nilher, are you trying to connect from a workgroup machine to a domain machine? Does your domain policy allow this?
