Cool. I recently got one of these guys:

I'm pretty new to the whole smartphone world and I've got one question which has been bugging me...
Do you know whether I can connect to a wireless network using these devices so that I can surf the web (ie: check e-mail) using the wireless network connection rather than incurring the cost of a phone call to connect? - Anonymous

Ooh, that's a cool one.
On the wireless thing, I'm not 100% sure. You'd have to check with the company that sold you the phone. There are some SD cards with 802.1x capabilities, but it would depend on whether they have drivers for your phone model. - Anonymous

Thanks Dave... I'll try to find out if I can go down that path. It would be good because then it will be easier (read: cheaper) for me to demo Whidbey web apps from my smartphone. - Anonymous

Yes, but note that they only say they are compatible with PocketPC devices. I don't know of any that are for sure Smartphone compatible. - Anonymous

Well, if I do find one that is suitable I'll come back and leave it as a comment.
Thanks for your help! - Anonymous

You can't get it ... it is only useful right now for posting to the Windows Mobile blog. I need to add UI to make it more generic (basically, the URL is hard-coded to the Windows Mobile Blog .TEXT SOAP endpoint and shared username, to avoid any configuration woes ... we just set up the Author name and password). I'll be more interested in putting this out into the wild when I add to it support for other blogging engines in addition to .TEXT (I have an "Atom" API that I'm working to port to the Compact Framework: http://www.winisp.net/dstewartms/atomizer ...)
