Today, Microsoft takes another step towards helping our partners and customers capitalize on the promise of intelligent systems: the Windows Embedded 8 Handheld software development kit (SDK) is now available to developers.

Built on Windows Phone 8, Windows Embedded 8 Handheld is the next generation of Microsoft’s platform for line-of-business enterprise handheld devices that help improve customer experiences, automate data collection and improve workforce productivity. Leveraging its secure, manageable and user-friendly platform, Windows Embedded 8 Handheld adds additional hardware support, the ability to lock down the device to run only approved enterprise applications, and increased manageability with Windows Intune and other third-party mobile device management vendors.

Enterprises and ISVs can get started today by downloading the Windows Embedded 8 Handheld SDK and documentation. Read more about Windows Embedded 8 Handheld here.
