Announcing MSDN Wiki!
In case you haven’t seen this we publicly released the MSDN Wiki at https://msdnwiki.microsoft.com. Check it out and file any bugs or suggestions in the MSDN Wiki Connect Workspace.
What is MSDN Wiki?
The MSDN Wiki site experiments with ways we can integrate community contributions into the Visual Studio 2005 and .NET Framework 2.0 documentation. This is phase one. On the current site you can add content and edit other people’s contributions in a wiki-like fashion around the official Microsoft-authored docs. In the future we want to take this further by allowing people to edit the Microsoft-authored docs directly. Let us know what you want to see!

I think you have the right idea, I'd love to see tighter integration with editing the documentation itself. Currently the behavior of the wiki is more like a forum than a wiki. I think this process also needs an approval process as well - a fair community approvals rather than centralized approvals. I am already seeing "test" posts and can imagine a future where spambots get to msdnwiki...
