“Two Platforms in One Day” with Windows Azure Mobile Services

Over three days, you’ll have the time to immerse yourself in developing with great content covering Windows Azure, Windows Phone & Windows 8 at UNSW, with great support & tools to build that App.

We’re pleased to announce a great line-up for #Appfest Sydney.

Chris Bernard is coming to Australia in February 2013 to work with local Developers and Start-Ups. Chris is the Chief Experience Evangelist for Microsoft’s US Developer & Platform Evangelism team. #Appfest Sydney will coincide with his trip to give you the opportunity to attend a UX camp, and meet Chris to discuss user experience and design.

Shane Morris will open the hackathon with a keynote on how to apply modern Windows design principles to your apps before leading you in a prototyping session for your app. Assisted by mentors, you’ll work up wireframes and designs (bring your designer friends!) before getting deep into hack time.

Mentors will offer focused lightning talks throughout the weekend on specific topics such as Share or Search contracts etc. The entire event wraps up with Vaughan Knight (developer of DoDo GoGo) getting into the nitty-gritty of what constitutes success for an indie app developer with his talk, “100,000 Reasons to Love the Windows Store”.

Whether you’re a Web Dev, Phone Dev, Start-up, or a student wanting to know more, #Appfest Sydney is the place to make it happen. There’ll be competitions, stacks of giveaways and even devices up for grabs.

Oh, and if you are wondering if an #AppFest is worth your time: here are some stories from previous attendees.
