After installation getting error “The Microsoft Forefront TMG services cannot be started. Please try restarting the computer.”
Issue: At the end of installation of TMG 2010 getting error “The Microsoft Forefront TMG services cannot be started. Please try restarting the computer.”
Troubleshooting:
In the event logs if we find following event

To fix this problem, stop the Internet Connection Sharing (ICS) service, start the Microsoft Forefront TMG Control service, and then restart the Internet Connection Sharing (ICS) service. Resolution: Disable and stop the Internet Connection Sharing (ICS) service and then start the TMG services and the services would start fine.

I did this, and still getting same error. installed again windows and then installed TMG without activated ICS. Now i cannot share the internet. Giving me error message. Everything worked perfectly on Virtual PC, but in real giving me errors. Using WINDOWS 2008 R2, TMG 2010, 2 NETWORK card ( internal and External ). please help me.Anonymous

Sorry for the delayed response..trust me it was very hectic month. To share internet or allow internet access you need to create access rule and define networks on the TMG server. Please follow the instructions as per blogs.technet.com/.../setting-internal-network-address-ranges-as-per-the-routing-table-on-the-isa-server.aspx to define your internal network. Logicaly whatever (ip addresses)is not part your internal network is considered external. If you can copy and paste your ipconfig/all of you machine. I can suggest you couple of things.Anonymous

Dear engineers this is shakirullah. I have installed exchange 2010 on one server 2008 R2.whenever I install the TMG 2010 every thing is good it is running very good..but after install and configuration I cannot shared internet connection.yes if shared a internet connection before Tmg .so it cannot install and configure properly. tell me a solution.i am facing this problem for 1 month.please.....................
