In the Team Foundation Server Chat on Friday, and through numerous e-mails & blog comments, people are asking for information on transitioning their MSDN Subscription to one of the new Team System-based subscriptions.

  • For MSDN Universal, you should visit this page: Transition Your MSDN Subscription.
  • For MSDN Enterprise, the transition is automatic to Visual Studio 2005 Team Edition for Software Developers with MSDN Premium Subscription.
  • For MSDN Professional, the transition is automatic to Visual Studio 2005 Profesional Edition with MSDN Professional Subscription.

    What is the deal with the Partner Program for ISV's? I keep finding comments that the normal MSDN Universal transition deal does not apply, and check the partner program information for details, but I haven't been able to find anything on the partner program website about what the deal is.

    I read the same thing and I can't find any info on how Partner MSDN subscriptions will be transitioned, other than 'they will be informed via the respective communication channel' or something like that.

    What is the holdup for Partners?

    We are Certified Partners and I've now spent 2 hours being bounced around Micorsoft, trying to get AN answer. Instead, I've gotten several from, "Team Suite is $10,939 per developer" to "Team Edition for Software Developers is included with MSDN for Certified Partners". I actually threw up my hands and googled: "Team Edition" MSDN "certified partners" I ended up here -- glad that I'm not the only one getting the run-around.
